Hector Germain Guimard (left) was a leading figure of the Art Nouveau movement in France who designed the entrances to the Paris Métropolitain. The project was completed in 1913, the same year Historic Roser Park was born. Using wrought iron, bronze, and glass, Guimard composed his structures using the curves characteristic of the Art Nouveau style, a movement that also became known as le style Métro and le style Guimard in Paris. Its origins are somewhat rooted in the work of William Morris (right), one of the founders of the Arts and Crafts Movement who was closely involved with the Pre-Raphaelite artists of the mid-19th century.

OUR MISSION:

THE HISTORIC ROSER PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION: Our goal is to preserve and showcase one of St. Petersburg's oldest historic neighborhoods. The Historic Roser Park Neighborhood Association has two community events, The Tour of Homes and The Art Festival. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, we use our funds to support neighborhood improvement projects and other organizations dedicated to the revitalization of Midtown St. Petersburg.

To instill the love of art in the hearts of local communities.To give each individual a chance to embrace and admire the diversity and talent of each Artisan.To give each patron the opportunity to obtain a unique treasure for life.

The 2007 Historic Roser Park Art Festival was held this past November, and was a great success. Check back soon for details on this falls Festival, scheduled for November 8 & 9th 2008. The festival is held each year along the banks of scenic, Booker Creek in the heart of Downtown Saint Petersburg. It's a lovely venue, and a perfect way to spend an autumn weekend.
